Finally Fishing!

Since Sarah has been begging us to take her fishing for weeks now and when we woke up this morning, it was a beautiful sunshiney day-we decided to go to the local fishing pond. It looks like the photos loaded backwards. We actually went fishing twice. Once in the morning and again in the evening. Sarah was the only one that caught any and she caught two small bluegill. That was the point of our day, so mission accomplished-and we had a lot of fun together.

Here is Sarah fishing when we went back in the evening. It was a lot cooler, but we didn't catch anything.
This was in the morning/early afternoon. She couldn't have had a bigger smile...

On the hook, you can see the second fish that Sarah caught. This one was bigger than the first, but we just released it as it was a bit small.

...and the same fish
Here is the first one she caught. It was a tiny one.

Sarah was so excited to go fishing, check out the happiness in her face. This was definitely a day to remember. She was a blast and I had more fun watching her than I did fishing!

My girl and her Baba

Sarah wanted to pose with Baba today when I pulled out the camera, so here's what we got.
I love that smile on my girl!

Poem for Sarah by Mama

She spins and twirls with pure abandonment,
Hands raised, with a smile that could light even the darkest room.
She looks at me when the musicians pause between songs
to ensure more songs will follow.
She gets caught up in the worship
like nothing else in the world matters.
She shoots me a glance, runs over to me,
and whispers so sweetly,
with a smile, in my ear, “I love you, Mom!”
With those words, she fills my heart and displays to me God’s heart
and how much He loves me.
Then she races back to her self-made dance floor…
spins…twirls…and worships her Jesus.

Preschool-School Pictures

I am so impressed with Sarah's preschool. I'm so happy that her old one closed down and we found this new one. She has learned so much there, academically and socially. They even have parent-teacher conferences and formal school photos! They're going to have a program next month where the kids are going to sing songs and put on a show for the parents. I can't wait!
Here is her photo for this year at Preschool!

Sarah-THE ALPHABET QUEEN!

On Monday, Sarah was tested at preschool on her alphabet. She has been soo motivated to earn her Alphabet Crown that she has been asking me every day to "do" her letters with her. We've been practicing like crazy. Well, she'd been doing great and only was missing one and Monday morning we practiced them again and she did great. Not only does she need to know the letters to earn the crown, she needs to know what sounds they make. I had no idea that they were going to test her on Monday, but I was glad they did 'cause her teacher told me on Mon. when I picked her up that she earned her crown! Today I went to school with her and got some photos when she got it. She and 6 other kids from her class earned their crowns and they sang a song to them and took their photos in their crowns. It was A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!
There couldn't be a more proud Mama on the planet right now!

Pretty New Bow!

Fellow Chinese Adoptive Mom is having some fundraiser auctions to fund her adoption. We won an auction and as a bonus she sent Sarah this home made bow. Sarah just HAD to put it on right away and asked, "Mommy, am I beautiful?"

Pretty girl in a poufy skirt!

Last Sunday, I actually got Sarah to hold still just for a minute...Long enough to get these shots. Can you believe this skirt is a 4 and she's already getting too tall for it?

Happy Mother's Day

When we got home from the picnic (see previous post) I got some alone time and Troy took Sarah shopping for Mother's Day. When they got home they couldn't wait one more day to give me my gift. They had gone to Build A Bear and stuffed me a panda. Troy said that Sarah kissed his heart and put it inside. They most special part was that they recorded their voices and put the sound in his arm. So, I push the button and it says in Troy's voice, "Happy Mother's Day, Honey, I love you." then Sarah says, "Happy Mother's Day, I love you!" It's the cutest thing ever. I love it!
In this one, Sarah took the photo herself!

Sarah is holding the card she made for me at preschool with her hand print in it!

Mother-Daughter Picnic!

Last Saturday, my friend, Angie invited us to go to a Mother/Daughter day with her church at an historical local farm. It was a lot of fun. We had a craft, picnic dinner, wagon ride, fed the ducks and geese, line dancing and Sarah's favorite, milked a cow! It was a blast! Dancin' around

Waiting for our wagon ride!
Me & My Girl

It was funny. Chelsea was hesitant but finally milked the cow...Miranda Joy wasn't having anything to do with it, then it was Sarah's turn. She just sat down and started pulling on those udders! Troy had told her how so she was ready. It was a riot!
Sarah thought that milking the cow was the BEST part! She loved it!

Miranda Joy, Chelsea, and Sarah waiting to milk the cow...they were saying, "MOOOO"

Field Trip!

A week or so ago, Sarah's preschool had a really fun field trip. We went to the Planetarium and it was WAY fun! This is the tribute to Isaac Newton-it has balls and marbles that move all over-cause and affect kind of stuff. It's really cool. This is Sarah on the Moon! They had this cool area that was built like the surface of the Moon. The kids loved it.

And then she became a Martian! Across from the Moon was the surface of Mars!

...Back to the Moon!

They got to see a cartoon movie about the planets and the screen was the dome ceiling of the theater. Talk about cool! Sarah LOVED it and can't wait to go back again!

Bein' Silly!

A couple of weeks ago when it was a rainy Sunday, we had some fun being silly after church in the driveway.

Can you tell she needs a haircut? Well, last week she finally got one, you'll see the "after" photos soon!

April Play Date

Since we weren't sure we were going to have good weather, we relocated our play date In April to the main library. Unbeknownst to us, there was a cool program going on and the kids had a blast.
Here are Lia, Emilie, and Sarah from R to L after the program having fun!

Sarah and Emilie found something fun to climb on in the kids area!

Shopping Trip results!

Gotta love those Gymbucks! We had a coupon and took a trip to Gymboree. Well, I would say of all the shopping we've done for and with Sarah in the past 3 1/2 years, this was the first time she cared what was purchased! My daughter has developed an opinion! Upon entering one of our fave Mall shopping spots, Sarah ran over to this hot pink tulle "poofy" skirt and declared her desire (so to speak) to have it! So, we found a cute top to match and asked the sales girl how well it washed and after being reassured by her that it could go in the washer, I relented and brought home the poofy skirt. Of course, she HAD to put in on IMMEDIATELY upon arriving home. Every day since, she's been asking to wear it, hoping that the weather is appropriate! Hopefully this week she'll get a chance!

My Sweet Little Girl

It's so sad how fast Sarah is getting TALL!!! Her waist still fits a 3T and all the 4T pants are WAY too short! This jumper is WAY too big around her and you can see just barely hits her knees! *sigh* She's growing too fast!
